About the Founder
Catherine Conceicao
Creative, Storyteller, Founder
StudioC8te is the creative home of Catherine Conceicao — an Australian creative, storyteller and mother to a now young-adult daughter, whose work has moved across art, fashion, interiors, media and wellbeing.
Beginning as a visual artist and painter, Catherine's creative life has never followed a single path. Over the years it has taken her through exhibitions, photography, fashion and textiles, interiors, creative direction, documentary and editorial work, alongside living and working in Los Angeles.
Motherhood added another chapter — deepening her curiosity about childhood, identity, creativity and the ways we learn to understand ourselves and one another.
Today, StudioC8te brings those worlds together through children's picture books, storytelling, education, wellbeing, art, media and new creative projects. Different places. Different chapters. The same curiosity about people, creativity and the way we live.
The Chapters
The Chapters
01
Art & Painting
Where it all began. Large-format works, colour studies, exhibitions and a lifelong relationship with paint, canvas and the act of making something from nothing.
02
Fashion & Textiles
Photography, styling, creative direction and a deep love of fabric, texture and the way clothes tell a story about who we are and where we come from.
03
Interiors & Space
The spaces we inhabit shape us. Art direction, styling and a considered approach to how rooms feel — warm, layered, alive with personality.
04
Storytelling & Media
Documentary, editorial, podcast and the written word. Stories about people, culture, identity and the things that connect us across distance and difference.
05
Children's Books
A new chapter rooted in the old ones. Picture books that speak to children about being different, belonging, imagination and growing up with curiosity and courage.
06
Wellbeing & Education
Creativity as a tool for understanding ourselves. Projects that sit at the intersection of learning, emotional intelligence and the way we raise the next generation.
How We Work
The Process
Every project starts with a conversation. What are we making? Who is it for? What does it need to feel like? From there, the work takes shape — slowly, deliberately, with care for the detail and respect for the idea.
01
Listen
Every project begins with deep listening — to the brief, the person, the context. Understanding what something needs to be before deciding what it will look like.
02
Make
Ideas become things. Whether that's a painting, a manuscript, a podcast episode or a styled interior — the making is where the thinking becomes real.
03
Refine
The first version is never the last. Refinement is where the work gets honest — where the unnecessary falls away and what remains is exactly what it needs to be.
04
Share
Work made in private only matters when it meets the world. Getting it out — into hands, onto walls, into ears — is the final and most important step.
Collaborate
